Rosatom signs coop memos for Bulgarian plant with Framatome, GE

MOSCOW, Jun 18 (PRIME) -- Russian state nuclear power corporation Rosatom has agreed to cooperate with France's Framatome and U.S. General Electric Steam Power, unit of General Electric (GE) in the framework of a strategic investor choice for the Belene project in Bulgaria, Rosatom said in a statement on Thursday.

"In accordance with the agreements, the companies will work together to participate in the tender for the construction of Belene nuclear power plant,” the statement read.

“As part of the agreement, if Rosatom becomes a strategic investor of the project through a competitive process, GE will be considered as the partner of an Arabelle based turbine-generator set and Turbine Hall Equipment and Framatome SAS as the key partner of Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Systems for the Bulgarian nuclear power plant."
